Location: Bay Area, CA
Company: Superior Alarm Systems (SAS)
Who We Are
Superior Alarm Systems is a commercial security integrator operating at the high end of the market — pharmaceutical facilities, entertainment studios, global manufacturing campuses, and executive-level environments. Our clients have complex, integrated security ecosystems, and our technicians are expected to match that standard on day one.
We're expanding our Bay Area field team and looking for a Technician III who can own installations independently, solve problems without hand-holding, and is ready to take on a leadership role on the job site.
What You'll Do
Lead installations end-to-end — from rough-in through commissioning — on commercial security systems across access control, IP video surveillance (CCTV), intrusion detection, and intercom/specialty devices
Terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling to a professional standard — clean runs, proper management, no shortcuts
Commission and verify system functionality across integrated platforms; resolve field-level issues without escalation
Read and work from engineered drawings — you interpret prints, not wait for someone to explain them
Mentor Technician I and II team members on site; you set the bar for workmanship and pace
Support Technician IV with jobsite coordination, scheduling, and quality control
Document accurately — time entries, job progress, punch items — in SAS project tracking systems
Hold the quality standard — every installation you touch is neat, labeled, tested, and ready for inspection
What You Bring
These are non-negotiable:
3–5+ years of commercial security installation experience — pharmaceutical, industrial, institutional, or enterprise environments preferred
Demonstrated ability to independently install and commission access control hardware, IP cameras, intrusion systems, and electrified door components
Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, blueprints, and system schematics
Experience with Genetec, Lenel, or Bosch platforms (at least one required; all three is a strong advantage)
Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision — you manage your day, your work, and your quality
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Candidates without commercial systems experience will not be considered. Residential-only backgrounds do not apply.
What Sets You Apart
Experience on large-scale or multi-phase commercial projects — you've seen a job from mobilization through closeout
Familiarity with Bluebeam for markup and D-Tools for documentation
History of mentoring or guiding junior technicians on active job sites
Any relevant certifications: ESA/NTS, manufacturer certifications (Genetec, Lenel, Bosch), or low-voltage licensing
Comfort working in high-security, high-stakes environments where first impressions matter
What SAS Offers
$36–$43/hr based on verified experience and systems knowledge
Up to 95% of medical premiums covered — plus dental and vision
401(k) — because a good company invests in your future, not just your time
Company laptop provided
Two weeks PTO + 7 sick days + 7 paid holidays
A clear path to Technician IV — this isn't a dead-end role; it's a launchpad
Work on the most complex, high-profile installations in the Bay Area — the kind of projects that build a resume
The Honest Picture
This role is for someone who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. SAS has a reputation for technical excellence and we protect it — which means we need technicians who share that standard, not just show up for a paycheck.
If you're a seasoned commercial tech who wants complex work, a team that respects your skills, and a clear path to the next level — we want to talk.
Ready to Apply?
This is a senior-level field technician role. If you have fewer than 3 years of hands-on commercial security installation experience, this position is not a fit. If you’re an experienced security technician who thrives in a leadership role and takes pride in delivering high-quality work, we’d love to hear from you.
